About

Connor Étienne Powers is a passionate hornist from Houston, Texas. Currently a senior at the Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (Kinder HSPVA), Connor is in the process of applying to Horn Performance programs at the University and Conservatory level.

A 2025 YoungArts Award recipient and Interlochen Orchestral Scholar, Connor has performed extensively with the Houston Youth Symphony, Interlochen ensembles, and as Principal Horn for multiple orchestras and chamber groups. He is a dedicated student of the instrument, having studied with renowned hornists and participated in masterclasses with some of the top artists in the field.

Born in Covington, Louisiana, Connor also lived in Bangkok, Thailand and then Danville and Bakersfield, California before moving to Houston for middle and high school.

In addition to the horn, Connor is a dedicated student of history, his favorite academic field. His primary area of interest is medieval European history.
